Purpose and lawfulness

The personal data is collected to create and manage user accounts for the Register Utiliser Tool (RUT) metadata tool. The data will also be used to communicate with you as a user, for instance within the development of the metadata tool. Vetenskapsrådet processes personal data on the basis of your consent.

Processing and protection

Vetenskapsrådet will keep your user name, first and last name and the name of your organisation linked to your user account. The same will apply to information that you provide when you use the form for questions and feedback in the tool. Such data will for example be information about browsers and operating systems that may be needed to process an error or a user comment.

A user will initially get a user name and a password from Vetenskapsrådet. A new password must be entered at the first login. The new password replaces the original password and will remain unknown to Vetenskapsrådet.

The personal data will be deleted at Vetenskapsrådet  if you withdraw your consent, if you have not logged in to the metadata tool in two year or when the user account expires. The data are protected by relevant technical and organisational measures.

Vetenskapsrådet is a public authority, which means that personal data may be subject to disclosure to third parties when a request for public documents under the constitution on freedom of press is made. Before any disclosure, an assessment according to the secrecy regulation is made.

Rights of the data subject

You have the right to have information about the processing of your personal data, the right to have incorrect personal data rectified and incomplete personal data completed. You also have the right, under certain circumstances, to have data erased or to object to the processing of your personal data. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You have, at any time, the right to withdraw a given consent.
