The Swedish Occupational Register (YREG)
The Swedish Occupational Register (YREG) is an individual register at Statistics Sweden, which since 2001 has been collecting information on the working population’s occupational distribution and occupational development in various industries and sectors of society. All individuals over the age of 16 who are registered in Sweden are covered.
The register consists of a compilation of individual and company information from a number of registers at Statistics Sweden, which has been supplemented with additional collections. There are, among other things, about twenty sources for occupational data, the most important of which are wage structure statistics in the private and public sector, employers’ organisations and occupational surveys of employers.
