The Swedish National Register for Urinary Bladder Cancer
The Swedish National Register for Urinary Bladder Cancer has since 1997 registered all patients with newly diagnosed bladder cancer in Sweden. Every year about 3 000 new tumors are discovered. The register aims to provide knowledge about the disease through registration of investigation and treatment of newly discovered bladder cancer and five year follow up data.
The Bladder Cancer Register has a high coverage rate. On the register’s website you can find annual reports, patient information and a guide to doing research using Bladder Cancer Register data.
The Bladder Cancer Register receives funding within the framework of an agreement between the state and Sweden’s Municipalities and Regions (SKR) concerning National Quality Registers. The Bladder Cancer Register is certified as level 2.
A list of the contents of the register with respective variables can be found in RUT (Register Utiliser Tool).
