The Geodatabase (GDB)

The Geodatabase (GDB) is a geographical register at Statistics Sweden containing all of Sweden’s addresses and properties with associated coordinates, which are supplemented with information on different geographical divisions, e.g. DeSO (Demographic Statistics Areas) and postcodes.

The purpose of GDB is to gather information on geographical divisions with mutual relations in a common register, obtain comparability over time and enable the production of statistics with geographical breakdowns.

The register is updated continuously every week, but every year an annual version is also created with current objects and divisions as of 1st January. Registers of properties from 1982 and addresses from 2000 are also available. Uninhabited addresses and properties are included as well.
