Scandinavian Obesity Surgery Registry (SOReg)

The register aims to provide new knowledge about the disease obesity and its treatment. SOReg has a very high coverage rate, as all operating units in Sweden report to the register. Since 2014 in Norway there has been an identical register with its own steering group and database.

SOReg is run by the Swedish Association for Upper Abdominal Surgery (SFÖAK). As a National Quality Register, SOReg receives funding within the framework of an agreement between the state and the Swedish Municipalities and Regions (SKR) concerning National Quality Registers.
